About this event
Universal Health Care: A Community Conversation
Oregon is on track to be the first state to transition to a universal, single-payer system for every resident. Truly! We are the only state with a constitutional amendment guaranteeing healthcare as a fundamental right, and our state's Universal Health Plan Governance Board is delivering their recommendation to our OR legislature this December. This process has been in the works for several years, and we expect to see this issue on our ballot in 2028. One of the biggest hurdles is educating Oregonians like you about what has happened to build the plan so far, what universal healthcare actually is, and how to get further involved. Collin (he/they) came to Health Care for All Oregon (HCAO) after several years as a project coordinator with Mission Driven Data. He joined Oregon's Cost Growth Target Advisory Committee in spring 2024, and is a member of the Community Engagement and Communications committee of the Universal Health Plan Governance Board. Collin has a background in hospital admissions, environmental science, logistics and supply-chain management, and music performance.
