Portland Schools are out for the week, so we’re having camp!! (M, Tu, W & F, no camp Thursday!)

MONDAY: In ART TOYS we will be looking at the history of limited-edition display toys created by artists and designers, bridging the fine art, street culture, and collectible worlds. We’ll look at Michael Lau’s work, the Urban Vinyl movement and platform toys like the Dunny and Munny, and the modern era of “Blind Boxes”. We’ll talk a bit about mass consumption, how to be thoughtful collectors, and what make’s a cool, unique toy; and most importantly, we’ll both customize vinyl toy blanks, and create our own character figurines, complete with boxes!
